General Skilled Migration Visas

There are a number of visas available for applicants using the skilled migration program. Each visa has it’s own legislative requirements but we’ve provided some information below which may help clarify which visa you may be eligible for.   • Skilled Independent Subclass 189: This is an Independent permanent skilled migration visa.The most important eligibility criteria for this visa is to have the occupation listed on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

  • Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 [Nomination by a state/territory government]:Subclass 190 is a state nominated permanent skilled Migration Visa.This visa can be applied for occupations listed on either Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or Short Term Skill occupation List (STSOL)

  • Skilled – Nominated or Sponsored (Provisional) Subclass 491 [Nomination by a state/territory government or sponsorship by an eligible relative living in a designated area]: Subclass 491 is a State nominated or relative sponsored provisional visa leading to permanent resident 191 visa option after 3 years and subject to fulfilling certain conditions attached to the visa.
